Job Summary
The Operational Buyer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, focusing on efficiency and supplier relations. Key daily tasks include handling the entire ordering cycle, creating detailed forecasts, tracking deadlines, and managing open orders. A crucial aspect of this role is the continuous development and optimization of purchasing processes and maintaining accurate master data. You will engage in troubleshooting activities and collaborate closely with the Engineering and Quality, Environment, Safety, and Health (QESH) departments on technical matters. This position is attractive as it offers exposure to international supplier management through visits within the EU and requires a strong technical understanding. The ideal candidate is a dedicated, team-oriented professional with analytical skills and proficiency in IT applications, particularly Excel and ideally JDE.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical basic education combined with further professional training as a Purchasing Specialist or comparable qualification.
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement
- Professional experience in developing and optimizing procurement processes
- Professional experience in maintaining master data
- Professional experience in troubleshooting and technical collaboration
Languages
Additional
- Must be an engaged, team-oriented personality with strong analytical abilities. Requires willingness to travel for supplier visits in Switzerland (Goldach) and the European Union.
