Job Summary
This five-month, fixed-term internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to environmental monitoring and regulation within the Department of Construction, Transport and Environment in Aargau. The intern will be responsible for executing crucial sampling activities, including collecting data on macrozoobenthos, diatoms, external aspects, and ecomorphology, as part of the cantonal monitoring program and urban drainage success checks. A key daily task involves the precise determination of macrozoobenthos specimens. Furthermore, you will analyze the collected data, draft comprehensive reports for public dissemination, and provide essential support for surface water enforcement activities. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or Biology and possess proven expertise in macrozoobenthos determination. Essential technical skills include proficiency in GIS and R, combined with a highly systematic and independent working style. This role is ideal for a recent graduate seeking hands-on scientific experience in water resource management.
