Job Summary

This critical leadership role involves heading the Service Desk Control Center team, managing 24/7 shift operations, and ensuring the operational stability and ICT security of Vienna Digital's infrastructure. The incumbent will be instrumental in building and developing a new Security Operation Center (SOC), serving as the First Line of Defense against cyberattacks. Day-to-day tasks include personnel, technical, and organizational leadership, coordinating major incidents, and acting as a liaison between the Control Center and various specialized teams (WienCERT, Front/Back Office). This position requires a strong background in IT Security, understanding of SOC operations, and proven leadership skills, making it ideal for a professional passionate about protecting critical digital infrastructure and ensuring service stability for citizens.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or a comparable field, OR high school diploma (preferably HTL) and comparable training.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT-Security
  • Professional experience in setting up and operating a modern SOC (Security Operation Center)
  • Experience in team leadership (preferred)
  • Multi-year professional experience in the field (required if no university degree)

Languages

German (Fluent)

  • Must adhere to the provisions of the Vienna Civil Servants Act (Wiener Bediensteten-Gesetz). Full-time employment (40 hours/week).
