Job Summary

The Universitätsmedizin Rostock is seeking an IT Specialist or Medical Informatics Specialist to join their Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIZ.Rostock). This role involves the planning, development, and implementation of process models for data modeling, as well as the specification, adaptation, and maintenance of ETL pipelines, particularly those aligned with the MII core dataset. The successful candidate will also be responsible for defining and adjusting interfaces to critical clinical software systems and other infrastructure components to automate data integration processes. Additionally, the role includes the operation and maintenance of the necessary technical infrastructure for MeDIZ.Rostock, including database administration and the operation of platforms for clinical data repositories. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, or comparable qualifications

Experience

  • Professional experience in the specified activity area (data modeling, ETL, interface management)
  • In-depth and extensive experience in the IT sector relevant to the listed tasks
  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Experience with programming languages like Java, JavaScript, R, Python
  • Knowledge of common web technologies (REST, HTTP, SOAP) and data formats (JSON, XML, YAML)
  • Ideally, experience with medical standards (HL7v2, HL7 FHIR, DICOM, IHE, LOINC, SNOMED CT) and communication servers
