Job Summary

This is a permanent, full-time Research Associate position within the Department of Medicine, Clinic for Neurology, focusing on Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation at Philipps University. The role involves significant scientific services, including independent conception and execution of university teaching in natural science degree programs (e.g., Human Biology and Neurosciences), supervising practicals, and conducting examinations. A core responsibility is the independent drafting and submission of third-party funding applications to national and international organizations. The successful candidate will also coordinate international research collaborations, specifically administering a European consortium focused on compensatory mechanisms in Parkinson's disease. Key requirements include an excellent Master's degree and PhD in Neurosciences or a comparable field, specialized in multimodal brain imaging for movement disorders, and proven expertise in analyzing multimodal brain imaging data (MRI, PET).

Experience

  • Excellent doctorate (PhD) in multimodal brain imaging for movement disorders
  • Experience in university teaching operations within natural science degree programs with medical content (preferably Human Biology and Neurosciences)
  • High-ranking, international publication activity in multimodal brain imaging for movement disorders (especially Parkinson's disease)
  • Experience with patients who have received neuromodulatory therapies
  • Demonstrated competence in submitting third-party funding applications to national and European research funding organizations
  • Experience in coordinating European collaborative projects is advantageous
