Job Summary
This role at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) focuses on advancing medical progress through the development and manufacturing of modern biotechnological medicines under strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The successful candidate will lead complex projects centered on the aseptic filling of biopharmaceutical products, managing the entire lifecycle from internal coordination and project management to material planning and external partner communication. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing new filling processes, providing technical guidance to staff, and ensuring meticulous technical documentation compliant with GMP standards, particularly EU-GMP Annex I. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge creative research freedom with tangible value creation in the critical field of cell and gene therapy, requiring a background in engineering or natural sciences and practical cleanroom experience.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed scientific university degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering (e.g., Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering/Biosystems Engineering, or comparable field)
Experience
- Practical experience working in a cleanroom (up to and including Cleanroom Class A)
- Practical experience working under GMP conditions
- Experience handling vial filling in various formats
- Project leadership experience in a GMP environment
