Job Summary

This strategic role involves shaping the future control behavior of High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) assets within strategic asset management. The engineer will develop fundamental strategies, technical principles, and target concepts, responding to the challenges posed by increasing power electronics, renewable energy integration, and the phase-out of conventional power generation. Day-to-day tasks include defining technical specifications, creating maintenance and software update strategies for control systems, and performing detailed network calculations and simulations to assess system behavior. A crucial aspect is representing the company’s interests in relevant internal and external technical committees, ensuring the successful implementation of new requirements for critical assets. This position offers a high degree of responsibility in a rapidly evolving area of electrical power systems.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a comparable technical field

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing technical principles and asset strategies for control and regulation technology in HVDC and FACTS systems
  • Professional experience conducting network calculations or simulations of DC networks
  • Experience supporting factory audits, manufacturer tests, or pre-commissioning activities
  • Experience representing company interests within technical committees
