Job Summary

This role involves shaping the future of civil protection and crisis management in Berlin by developing policies and concepts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing "Lagebild Berlin," a critical situational awareness tool, and assessing evolving crisis scenarios through various information sources. Key activities include coordinating internal and external stakeholders, contributing to international standardization in safety and civil protection, and participating in EU civil protection procedures. The position also requires leading working groups and projects, engaging in research, and conducting presentations and training sessions. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom, Master, State Examination or equivalent) in Safety and Hazard Prevention, Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Management, Rescue, Safety and Crisis Management, International Emergency and Disaster Relief, Rescue Engineering/Safety Management, Public Administration, or comparable studies in disaster and civil protection; or equivalent abilities, knowledge, and experience. For civil servants: Fulfillment of career requirements for the second entry-level of career group 2, general administrative service, non-technical administrative service, or qualification for higher fire service technical service, or qualification for higher police executive service.

Experience

  • Professional experience in dealing with authorities and aid organizations, particularly concerning crisis collaboration or consultation and inter-agency coordination
  • Experience in staff work (Stabsarbeit)

  • Security clearance up to "Secret" level required (SÜ2 extended security check). Willingness to be on call or work in a shift model/shift service if required. Must be eligible for public service employment in Germany.
