Job Summary

This pivotal role involves leading a working group focused on the strategic management of combating religiously motivated terrorism and extremism, alongside radicalization prevention efforts. The successful candidate will provide expert oversight to the police regarding Islamist terrorism and extremism, ensuring the development and strategic monitoring of a comprehensive, cross-departmental concept for prevention and combating terrorist acts. Key responsibilities include coordinating initiatives for deradicalization, acting as a central point of contact, and engaging with federal and state authorities. This position offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to public safety in Berlin, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep expertise in security and administrative processes within a dynamic governmental environment.

Required Skills

Education

Second entry-level of career group 2, general administrative service, non-technical administrative branch, or higher police executive service qualifications. Must hold a rank of A 14 (Senior Government Councilor or Senior Police Councilor/Senior Criminal Councilor) and be employed by the State of Berlin.

Experience

  • Experience in strategic work for process control
  • Experience in repression and prevention within the field of religious terrorism
  • Knowledge of the organizational structure and operational processes of the Berlin administration, especially the Senate Department for Interior and Sport, the Berlin Police, and other security authorities at state and federal levels
  • Experience with the fundamentals of strategic management using business process management
