Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Research Associate to join the Institute for Molecular Biology and Tumor Research (IMT) at Philipps-Universität Marburg on a permanent, full-time basis. The role focuses on conducting scientific services in research and teaching, specifically developing and executing independent research projects in the field of epigenetic gene regulation. Day-to-day tasks involve applying modern genomic and proteomic techniques (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, IP-MS/MS), performing independent bioinformatics analysis of generated data, and presenting findings at international conferences. Furthermore, the associate will be responsible for planning and teaching courses in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology for Human Medicine and Human Biology degree programs, supervising student theses (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dr.rer.nat., Dr.med.), and managing laboratory organization, documentation, and safety protocols, including GMO regulations and maintenance of large laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate must hold a PhD in molecular life sciences and possess documented, multi-year experience researching epigenetic mechanisms in *Drosophila*.
