Job Summary

This Bioprocess Engineer role focuses on optimizing production concepts and scaling within Roche Diagnostics. The primary responsibilities involve evaluating the technical feasibility and economic viability of new production methods, maintaining a holistic view across Upstream and Downstream Processing (USP & DSP). The engineer will drive projects independently, performing complex data collection, analysis, technical calculations, and scenario analyses using appropriate tools. A crucial part of the job is supporting the creation of detailed business cases, specifically regarding capital and operational expenditures (CapEx & OpEx). Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Bioprocess Development, fundamental knowledge of process modeling and balancing, and deep expertise in Biologicals production. Success requires proactive communication with production and R&D stakeholders, strong analytical skills, and fluency in both German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Master's Degree in Bioprocess Development. PhD is beneficial but not required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in evaluating new production concepts and scale-up
  • Initial knowledge in process design, modeling, and balancing
  • Fundamental knowledge of Biologicals Production processes
  • Professional experience in independent project advancement and proactive stakeholder communication
