Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Process Engineer specializing in Upstream Processing (USP) to join a growing BioTech company focused on biopharmaceutical development in Berlin. The core responsibilities involve the end-to-end planning, organization, and execution of biopharmaceutical productions, ranging from lab-scale (10-50 L) to large-scale (up to 1000 L), strictly adhering to R&D and GMP standards. You will independently lead USP production projects, ensuring seamless coordination across development, Downstream Processing (DSP), and project management teams. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Biotechnology or Bioprocess Engineering, practical experience with bioreactors, cell culture processes (such as CHO cultivation and Fed-batch), and aseptic techniques. The position requires continuous process optimization, detailed GMP documentation (SOPs, reports, risk analyses), and participation in necessary cleanroom work and scheduled weekend duties. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent) in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a comparable scientific discipline

Experience

  • Experience with bioreactors, cell culture processes, and aseptic techniques
  • Professional experience in biopharmaceutical production (desirable)
  • Experience leading USP production projects
  • Basic knowledge of the GMP environment and ISO standards (advantageous)
