Job Summary

This Senior IT System Engineer role, based in Rostock, involves supporting one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures as the primary digitalization partner for the German Armed Forces. The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous monitoring and maintenance of critical server systems, ensuring operational stability, and optimizing performance within high-security military IT environments. Key daily tasks include the quality-assured transition of developed solutions into production, close collaboration with architectural teams to integrate operational aspects, and providing 3rd level support for complex error analysis and problem management. Candidates must possess a degree or training in IT, coupled with about five years of relevant professional experience, particularly in complex IT projects. Essential technical expertise covers VMWare Cloud Foundation, Storage, Backup, Windows Server, and Active Directory, ideally supplemented by automation skills using tools like Powershell or Ansible.
