Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated Power Plant Operator or Facility Technician responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of a modern waste-to-energy plant in Bonn. Day-to-day activities include monitoring and controlling thermal utilization and flue gas cleaning systems, both locally at the plant and from the control room. The operator will manage the entire process, from waste feeding to steam delivery, and independently perform minor maintenance and repair tasks to ensure smooth operation. This position requires strong technical aptitude, adherence to strict safety and environmental standards, and the willingness to work within a continuous shift model (2 early, 2 late, 2 night shifts, 4 days off). Successful candidates will have a relevant technical qualification and be committed to participating in an internal training program focused on waste utilization processes.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in a relevant technical field or comparable skilled worker qualification. Internal training program participation required. Qualification as an Electrician for Defined Activities (EFKffT) is a plus, or can be acquired internally.
Experience
- Professional experience in a related technical field or comparable skilled worker qualification
- Readiness to participate in an internal training program
- Experience as a Boiler Attendant (advantageous)
- Experience with heavy breathing apparatus (advantageous)

Additional
- Must be medically fit to wear heavy breathing apparatus. Willingness to work in a continuous shift model (2 days early, 2 days late, 2 days night shift, 4 days off). Initial fixed-term contract for at least one year during the internal training program, with subsequent permanent takeover upon successful completion.
