Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the smooth technical operation and maintenance of the Makerspace at the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), a hub for interdisciplinary work using digital fabrication technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical maintenance and support of equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters, robots, and electronics kits, as well as the 'Library of Things'. A critical component of the job is serving as the responsible electrical expert, ensuring operational safety, conducting risk assessments, and providing instruction on electrical systems and equipment throughout the library. You will also advise and support users during opening hours, proactively analyzing and optimizing workflows, and expanding the service offerings. This position requires a background in electrical engineering or a related technical field, practical experience in knowledge transfer, and strong German language skills, offering an opportunity to contribute to the digital transformation of knowledge sharing in a public service setting.

Education
Completed vocational training or degree as an Electrical Master, Technician, or Engineer in Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical engineering or related technical field
- Practical experience in knowledge transfer/education
- Ideally, practical experience in operational work safety
