Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Center for Synthetic Microbiology (SYNMIKRO) focuses on the ERC Advanced Grant “C-SWITCH,” investigating a novel class of nucleotide-dependent molecular switches that utilize the pyrimidine nucleotide CTP. The researcher will conduct biochemical, biophysical, and structural biology analyses of C-SWITCH candidates, functionally characterizing proteins both in vitro and in vivo using genetic, cell biological, and physiological approaches. A key objective is to understand how these regulators control protein activity and cellular functions, potentially identifying new targets for antibacterial therapies to combat antibiotic resistance. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a relevant field (Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Cell Biology) and possesses extensive experience in protein purification, in vitro characterization, and standard molecular biology techniques.
