Job Summary

The Hessian State Criminal Police Office (HLKA) is seeking an IT Specialist in Digital Forensics to join their Cybercrime and Digital Forensics unit in Wiesbaden. This critical role involves providing expert IT consultation to criminal prosecution authorities, executing legally admissible data preservation and preparation, and conducting in-depth analysis of secured data and electronic traces. The specialist will be responsible for complex technical evidence presentation, including representing findings in court, and evaluating new software and hardware for operational use. Key requirements include a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Digital Forensics or IT Security, comprehensive knowledge of IT hardware and software, and deep familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, UNIX/Linux, macOS, Android, iOS) and databases (SQL, MySQL, SQLite). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to central crime fighting efforts within the state, requiring high personal commitment and the willingness to undergo a 'Secret' security clearance.
