Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity as an Administrative Trainee within the Berlin Senate Department for the Interior and Sport, starting March 1, 2026. Over a maximum 24-month rotation program, the trainee will gain comprehensive experience across various administrative fields, including Human Resources, Budgeting, Public Relations, and Central Services, by rotating through different Senate administrations and district offices across Berlin. This position is ideal for politically interested, conceptual thinkers who value diversity and wish to actively contribute to the functioning of one of Europe's most vibrant metropolitan areas. Successful completion of the program leads to qualification for the higher administrative service, with subsequent appointment as a probationary Government Inspector. Candidates must hold a relevant Bachelor's degree in administrative, social, political, legal, or economic sciences and demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and team-oriented skills.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in a field with predominantly administrative science, social science, political science, legal science, or economic science content.

Experience

  • Trainee program experience (maximum 24 months)
  • Professional experience in diverse administrative functions (e.g., HR, Budgeting, Public Relations) via rotation model
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and common-good focused environment

  • Positive medical certificate (amtsärztliches Gutachten); Clean criminal record certificate (polizeiliches Führungszeugnis); Must achieve qualification for the first entry level of career group 2 of the general non-technical administrative service upon program completion.
