Job Summary

This role is centered on the development and continuous improvement of products, with a specific focus on applications within the growing hydrogen sector. The Materials Engineer will manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial prototype manufacturing and testing through to achieving mass production readiness, coordinating closely with Project Management to adhere to strict timelines. Key responsibilities include defining the product development roadmap, securing necessary certifications through collaboration with regulatory bodies, and working alongside suppliers, production, and quality control teams to ensure products meet feasibility and cost criteria. The ideal candidate must possess a completed university technical education (Master's or PhD equivalent) in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, combined with practical experience in product development and familiarity with critical pressure vessel and piping standards (AD2000, ASME). Success requires excellent communication skills, high social competence, and fluency in both German and English.

Experience

  • Professional experience in product development or a comparable position (beneficial)
  • Experience with common software including SAP, MS Project, and SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of common standards in pressure vessel construction (AD2000, ASME Sec. VIII) and piping construction (ASME B31.3) (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of standards for mobile pressure vessels (TPED) (beneficial)
