Job Summary

This role seeks an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of complex, large-scale construction projects focused on electrical distribution networks and power systems within Potsdam's municipal utility group. The successful candidate will act as the client representative, managing all phases from initial concept development through successful execution, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines. Key responsibilities include project steering, budget control, contract management (including VOB compliance), and coordinating internal teams, external partners, and public bodies. Candidates must possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical/Power Engineering and proven professional experience managing projects, ideally involving high/medium voltage infrastructure, overhead lines, or substations. This permanent position offers excellent job security, flexible working hours (38 hours/week), 30 days of vacation, and the chance to actively shape the region's sustainable energy and heat transition.

Required Skills

Education

University Degree (FH/University) in Civil Engineering (Deep Foundation), Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in network planning, construction, or project management.
  • Experience managing projects involving high- and medium-voltage networks.
  • Experience managing projects involving overhead lines, switching stations, and transformer stations.
  • Experience steering medium-volume construction projects to successful completion.

Additional

  • Driver's License Class B; Knowledge of legal and contractual norms in pipeline, road, and deep foundation construction; Profound knowledge of VOB (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen) and energy/water supplier regulations.
