Job Summary
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join the Central Finance department of the Schermbeck Municipal Administration, a community situated near the Lower Rhine and Ruhr regions. The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in managing core municipal financial operations. Key responsibilities include significant involvement in budget planning, such as analyzing and evaluating departmental budget requests, generating necessary calculations and statistics, and monitoring ongoing budget execution. A core function involves fixed asset accounting, encompassing the recording and management of fixed assets, processing all related bookings, performing reconciliation tasks, and managing special provisions and reserves. Furthermore, the role requires active participation in year-end closing procedures to ensure statutory compliance. The ideal candidate must possess either a relevant university degree (e.g., Public Administration or Administrative Business Management) or the specialized Administrative Specialist certification (Verwaltungsfachwirt). Success requires proficiency in standard MS software, strong team orientation, and a high degree of commitment and readiness for independent work.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Diplom/Bachelor/Master) in Public Administration, Administrative Business Management, Public Sector Law, or related fields; OR successful completion of the Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) certification (Verwaltungslehrgang II).
Experience
- Professional experience in budget planning and execution within an organizational framework.
- Experience in fixed asset accounting, including asset recording, booking, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience assisting with year-end financial closing procedures and ensuring legal compliance.
