Job Summary

This PhD position focuses on developing and applying advanced neuroimaging and transcranial current stimulation (tCS) simulation methods. The successful candidate will contribute to a DFG-funded project, leveraging modern finite element methods and sensitivity analysis to create realistic head volume conductor models. These innovative methods will be used to investigate visual motion in healthy subjects and patients with psychotic disorders, in close collaboration with clinical colleagues. The role requires strong programming skills and offers the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary research environment, contributing to cutting-edge research in biomagnetism and biosignal analysis.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in applied mathematics, computer science, physics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar disciplines.

Experience

  • Experience with neuroimaging is advantageous
  • Experience with numerical mathematics is advantageous
  • Experience with optimization is advantageous
  • Experience with inverse problems is advantageous
  • Experience with software development is advantageous
  • Experience with targeted and optimized brain stimulation is advantageous
