Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate (PhD Student) to join an interdisciplinary research team at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. The successful candidate will contribute to a DFG-funded project focused on understanding the role of ER-mitochondria interfaces in phospholipid homeostasis and cellular structure. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, executing, and evaluating experiments in cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing, and lipid analysis using mass spectrometry. The position also involves preparing and analyzing cell samples with super-resolution and electron microscopy, developing innovative fluorescence labeling strategies for lipids, and establishing methods for protein interaction studies. This is a chance to work at the forefront of cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and advanced microscopy, culminating in scientific publications.

Required Skills

Education

Excellent Master's or Diploma degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biomedicine, or a similar field

Experience

  • Professional experience with molecular and cell biology methods
  • Ideally, experience in microscopy or lipid analytics
