Job Summary

This role involves working as a Laboratory Technician in an analytical laboratory, focusing on physical-chemical material and component testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating testing requirements with internal clients, preparing samples, and conducting a variety of analytical tests including microscopic examinations, thermal analyses (DSC, DMA, TMA), rheometry, and IR spectroscopy. A key part of the job is also determining fiber volume content in composite materials and performing media storage tests. Meticulous documentation of all work steps and creation of test reports in accordance with ISO 17025 quality management standards are essential. Furthermore, the role includes interpreting test results and assisting with failure analyses on damaged components. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Material Tester or comparable qualification (e.g., Technician, Laboratory Assistant with focus on Material Science - metals or composites), OR a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Aerospace, Material Technology, Plastics Technology, Composite Materials, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in engineering, laboratory work/laboratory technology, and project management
  • Extensive specialized experience in research and development, material technology, testing procedures, or lightweight construction, ideally in the aerospace sector
  • Solid knowledge of material science and destructive material testing
  • Experience with static and dynamic testing machines (servo-hydraulic, electro-mechanical) and common laboratory equipment
