Job Summary

This is a permanent, full-time position within the University and State Library Münster, requiring a dedicated Linux System Administrator to focus heavily on IT Security. The role involves the continuous operation and maintenance of virtual server systems, primarily utilizing Debian GNU/Linux and OpenStack. A key responsibility is the automation of server and application deployment processes using scripting and configuration management tools. You will be instrumental in the conceptual and operational advancement of the library’s IT systems, ensuring robust information security. This includes active participation in university-wide initiatives, such as the implementation of the IT-Grundschutz methodology. Candidates must hold a degree in Computer Science or equivalent vocational training, possess deep expertise in Linux administration and virtualized infrastructures, and demonstrate fluent German proficiency (C2 level). The position offers a dynamic, collaborative environment with flexible work models and the stability of public sector employment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or related field; OR Vocational Qualification (IT Specialist for System Integration)

Experience
