Job Summary

This role offers the opportunity to join HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH in Oberkochen, contributing to the future of aerospace and defense by specializing in laser systems. The System Engineer is responsible for the full development lifecycle of multifunctional laser systems and laser sources, which are deployed in land, sea, and airborne military and civilian platforms. Day-to-day tasks involve creating technical concepts, designing, testing, and verifying laser sources in a laboratory setting, and coordinating diverse technical disciplines including mechanics, optics, electronics, and software. A critical component of the role is technology scouting and evaluation for new, innovative laser products. Candidates must possess a technical degree (Physics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering), long-term professional experience in developing laser systems, and expert knowledge of various laser technologies (solid-state, fiber, diode) and non-linear optics. Fluency in both German and English is required for effective cross-functional and international collaboration.
