Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the optimal performance, stability, and security of complex Linux-based monitoring environments. The administrator will be responsible for performing regular maintenance, updates, and optimizations of monitoring systems (such as Nagios/Checkmk), and planning the expansion of both virtual and physical systems. Key daily tasks include continuous system performance monitoring to proactively resolve potential issues, troubleshooting system problems to minimize downtime, and automating routine tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl to enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses professional experience in Linux administration, strong knowledge of system management, security, and networking, and excellent command of both German and English (C1 level required for both) to collaborate effectively with the IT team and project architects.

Required Skills

Education

University degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications in Linux administration (e.g., LPIC or RHCE) are ideal.

Experience
