Job Summary
This position calls for a dedicated Field Service Technician to join an IT service provider specializing in Point of Sale (POS) systems and software solutions for bakeries, retail, and system gastronomy. Day-to-day responsibilities involve traveling to customer sites within designated regions (such as Saxony-Anhalt, Munich, or North Rhine-Westphalia) to resolve technical disturbances. The technician will troubleshoot issues related to cash register systems, software applications, IT hardware, and networks, often receiving guidance from a central dispatcher. The role requires a strong technical background, ideally in Mechatronics, Electrical Systems, or IT Systems Electronics, coupled with proven experience in customer interaction and the ability to diagnose, analyze, and solve complex technical problems efficiently. Success in this role hinges on excellent communication skills, a high level of service readiness, and meticulous documentation of all activities to ensure continuous quality improvement. The company provides necessary equipment including a company vehicle, tablet, notebook, and tools.
Required Skills
Education
Technical training or further education in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, IT Systems Electronics, Telecommunications Electronics, Communication Electronics, or a similar field.
Experience
- Professional experience in customer contact
- Familiarity with general repair work of IT hardware
- Knowledge of the cash register industry and/or networking areas (Ideal)
- Completed technical training/further education (e.g., Mechatronics, Electrician, IT Systems Electronics, or similar)
