Job Summary
This role involves acting as a key expert and central interface for the City of Wels, driving digitalization and the responsible implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects. The specialist will identify automation potentials using AI, analyze and optimize existing processes, and coordinate the evaluation and introduction of new AI tools in collaboration with various departments. A core responsibility is contributing to the city's overall digitalization strategy while ensuring strict adherence to data protection, compliance, and ethical AI usage. The ideal candidate possesses a university degree in Computer Science or related fields, deep knowledge of AI technologies (like Deep Learning and Machine Learning), and proven experience in project management, software architecture, and cloud environments. This position offers a meaningful, varied role with high levels of autonomy, flexible working hours, and the option for up to 40% remote work.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree, preferably in (Business) Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields (for Functional Career Path 11) OR Completed education with Matura (Abitur/High School Diploma), preferably HTBLA with a focus on IT Technology (for Functional Career Path 14)

- Professional experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Experience in Cloud Architecture
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience in Software Architecture and Software Development
- Professional experience as a Subject Matter Expert coordinating between departments, decision-makers, and external service providers
