Job Summary

This role involves working as a System Administrator within the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), focusing on the core IT infrastructure, specifically storage and backup systems. The daily responsibilities include the planning, configuration, administration, and control of Storage Area Network (SAN) environments and data backup systems within the internal and external data centers. A key focus is participating in cross-location teams to harmonize and consolidate storage and backup environments, alongside operational monitoring of the entire system landscape. Candidates must hold a relevant university degree or comparable vocational training combined with extensive professional experience in a data center setting. Furthermore, strong digital competence and openness to agile project work are required. This permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to the stability and integrity of the German financial system in Frankfurt am Main.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/FH Diploma) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable field; OR Vocational training as IT Specialist for System Integration plus relevant professional experience comparable to a Bachelor degree.

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in a data center environment (Mandatory if degree grade is 'satisfactory' or based on vocational training)
  • Professional experience in planning, configuring, and administering SAN or data backup systems
  • Experience working in project structures
  • Experience in agile working methods (Beneficial)
