Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated Scientific Staff Member to join the Core Facility Microscopy (CFM) at the Max Planck Zentrum für Physik und Medizin (MPZPM). The successful candidate will be instrumental in the daily operation of the facility, providing crucial introductory and intermediate training to new users on advanced microscopy systems. Responsibilities include offering technical and experimental support for standard imaging experiments, particularly using confocal and spinning disk technology. The staff member will also conduct regular maintenance, calibration, and performance checks of the microscopes, and assist in documentation and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Candidates must possess a PhD or equivalent research experience in biology or a related field, coupled with a solid practical background in optical microscopy and experience with image acquisition and data handling. This fixed-term position offers the chance to work in a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary setting, shaping a new lab environment at the intersection of physics, biology, and medicine.
