Job Summary

This senior role at ETH Zurich's Sustainability in Business Lab (sus.lab) drives Switzerland's transition toward a net-zero and circular economy. The manager dedicates half their time as the Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) Expert for the ACHIEVE consortium, ensuring that scientific research is translated into actionable insights, tools, and processes for industry and policy decision-makers. This involves overall project management, leading stakeholder engagement formats like workshops and roundtables, and coordinating communication materials such as policy briefs. The remaining time is spent leading and managing novel industry-related sus.lab projects focused on decarbonization, overseeing deliverables, budgets, and project teams, and developing new initiatives. This position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 3-4 years of professional experience, and exceptional stakeholder management abilities to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or higher) in sustainability, environmental policy, engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3-4 years of work experience in sustainability consulting, policy analysis, transdisciplinary research, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in overall project execution, including ensuring strategic alignment and timely achievement of milestones.
  • Professional experience in designing, facilitating, and moderating participatory workshops and dialogues (Preferred).
  • Professional experience translating technical content into accessible communication formats (Preferred).

Additional

  • Must be based in Switzerland and work in Zurich (remote work is not possible). Familiarity with climate policy, decarbonization pathways, or carbon capture technologies is preferred. Network or engagement experience with Swiss policy, industry, or civil society organizations is preferred.
