Job Summary

The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a dedicated Dangerous Goods and Waste Management Officer to join its Occupational and Environmental Protection Staff. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with hazardous materials and waste regulations. Your daily tasks will include advising university staff on waste disposal and handling of dangerous substances, managing internal dangerous goods transport, and overseeing the university's special waste interim storage facility. You will also organize and conduct safety training, prepare reports for authorities, and potentially take on responsibilities as an occupational safety specialist with a focus on hazardous substances. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom, M.Sc.) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable function, ideally in a laboratory or research environment
  • Successful completion of the Dangerous Goods Officer examination
  • Successful completion of the Waste Management Officer training (ideally both)

  • Driving License Class B (desirable); Willingness to train as an Occupational Safety Specialist; For non-German degrees, a Statement of Comparability for Foreign Higher Education Qualifications from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required upon employment contract.
