Job Summary

The Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is seeking an accomplished individual for a professorship in User Experience and Design Methodologies for Extended Reality (XR), starting October 1, 2026. This role requires an artistically and creatively oriented professional to represent the field through a strong blend of theory and practice, with a focus on Augmented and Virtual Reality Design. Key responsibilities include independent instruction (18 weekly hours) delivered in English at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervising student projects and theses, and actively contributing to research and development initiatives. The successful candidate must possess a relevant university degree and extensive professional experience, including proven artistic achievements and several years as a leading XR Designer outside of academia. Crucially, fluency (C1 level) in both German and English is mandatory, along with the technical ability to prototype XR experiences using industry-standard tools like Game Engines and XR authoring systems. Required Skills

Experience
