Job Summary

This role is for an ambitious Optical Systems Designer focused on developing next-level technological solutions for clients in the Optics and Life Science industries. Day-to-day responsibilities include the development and rigorous simulation of complex optical designs, defining precise ray paths, and ensuring designs meet tight tolerance and manufacturing-specific requirements. A critical aspect of the job involves analyzing and selecting optimal optical concepts while keeping a close eye on manufacturing costs. The designer will collaborate closely within an interdisciplinary development team, contributing to prototyping efforts alongside mechanical and electronics engineers, and documenting and presenting results clearly. Candidates must hold a relevant degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Microsystems Technology, or Mathematics, coupled with initial practical experience in optical system development and proficiency in simulation software like Zemax, Code V, OSLO, or MATLAB.
