Job Summary

The Augsburg University of Applied Sciences seeks an engaging and passionate individual to fill a W2 Professorship in Collaborative Robotics, starting in Summer Semester 2026 or later. This role requires the professor to take responsibility for teaching Bachelor's and Master's programs in Robotics and Automation, delivering lectures in both German and English. A key focus is the development and implementation of modern, hybrid teaching formats, including Flipped Classroom concepts, to facilitate instruction across multiple locations. Beyond teaching, the professor is expected to independently develop ambitious, application-oriented research projects, particularly focusing on intelligent human-robot interaction utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods. The position demands extensive expertise in collaborative, service, or industrial robotics, proven pedagogical aptitude, and a commitment to fostering close cooperation with regional and national industry partners to promote knowledge transfer. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree and significant post-graduate professional experience, including time spent outside of academia.

Experience

  • Professional experience in applying or developing scientific knowledge and methods (minimum 5 years post-graduation)
  • Professional experience outside of the higher education sector (minimum 3 years)
  • Proven pedagogical aptitude (typically demonstrated through teaching experience)
  • Extensive expertise in collaborative, service, or industrial robotics
  • Proven knowledge in integrating AI methods for intelligent interaction and autonomy
  • Experience in third-party funding acquisition and project acquisition
