Job Summary
As the Team Lead for Data Center & Hybrid Cloud Operations at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), you will play a pivotal role in managing and evolving the IT infrastructure for one of Europe's most modern clinical environments. You will lead a dedicated team, overseeing the operation of on-premises data centers, including server, storage, backup, and archiving technologies, as well as power, climate control, and security systems. A key aspect of this role involves strategic planning and conceptualization of complex data center and cloud technologies, including the integration and orchestration of external cloud resources. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with critical infrastructure (KRITIS) and BSI IT-Grundschutz requirements, vital for the electronic patient records system. This position offers the opportunity to drive digital excellence in healthcare, contributing directly to patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in a relevant IT field or comparable knowledge and skills
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience in IT, with a focus on data centers, SAP Basis, VMware, storage, backup, archiving technologies, or cloud integrations within a large enterprise or as a consultant
- Several years of professional experience in leadership
- Experience in managing and coordinating work tasks
- Experience in customer and user consulting
- Experience in planning and coordinating life cycles of devices and procedures
- Experience in leading and participating in cross-functional projects
- Experience in strategic planning and conceptualization of data center and cloud technologies
- Experience in migrating applications to new components or procedures
- Experience in planning training and professional development measures
- Experience in conducting employee reviews
- Experience in addressing legal requirements (e.g., BSI IT-Grundschutz, KRITIS/B3S)
- Optional: Experience in cloud orchestration with major cloud providers
