Job Summary
This permanent, full or part-time position is for a Building Services Engineer within the Property Management department of the Federal Cartel Office in Bonn. The role focuses on ensuring the operational functionality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the federal property, including a heritage-listed building. Key responsibilities include independent project management for building maintenance and technical building equipment (TBE), with a focus on heating, climate control, ventilation, and security systems. The engineer will act as the client representative for TBE services, reviewing and approving external work, and participating in procurement processes. Collaboration with the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA) and external service providers is essential. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to occupational safety (e.g., creating risk assessments) and supporting the implementation and maintenance of Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) software. This position offers meaningful work securing competition and supporting public welfare.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or FH-Diplom degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Information Technology, Building Energy and Information Technology, Supply Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology, Energy and Process Engineering, Technical Facility Management (Workplace and Facility Engineering), or a comparable field.
Experience
- Practical experience in planning and executing construction and maintenance measures for technical building equipment (TBE), preferably focusing on heating, climate control, ventilation, and sanitation
- Multi-year professional experience in public administration (if substituting formal education)
- Practical knowledge in all areas of the HOAI (German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) (advantageous)
- Practical experience in procurement and contract management (advantageous)
- Experience in team and project management (advantageous)
