Job Summary

This role involves comprehensive financial controlling within the Social Services department of the Gifhorn District Administration. The Financial Controller will be responsible for drafting and preparing the Social Services sub-budget, coordinating planning with departmental management and the treasury, and presenting financial plans to the board and political bodies. Day-to-day tasks include executing central budget management, creating management and controlling reports, conducting independent research on federal and state regulations, and developing strategic proposals. Key requirements include a relevant Bachelor's degree in public administration or economics, expertise in municipal budgetary law and financial controlling, and excellent German language skills. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration (e.g., Bachelor of Arts – General/Public Administration), or Bachelor's/Diploma (FH) in Administrative, Legal, or Economic Studies, or successful completion of the II. Employee Training Course (Communal Administration specialization), or qualification for Career Group 2, First Entry Level, General Services (formerly higher general administrative service)

Experience

  • 2 years of professional experience in a relevant field (required if qualifying with a Bachelor's/Diploma in administration, law, or economics)
  • Professional experience in municipal budgetary law
  • Professional experience in specialized and financial controlling

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Possession of a valid Class B driving license; Willingness to use a private vehicle for official purposes (with compensation); Willingness to participate in the Gifhorn District disaster management staff.
