Upstream Processing Technician (Biologics CDMO) | PTA (m/w/d)

Job Summary

This role involves joining the Upstream team at a leading Biologics CDMO in Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on the GMP-compliant production of biotechnological active ingredients. The technician will be responsible for executing the entire Upstream Processing (USP) workflow, from seed train preparation through large-scale submerged and WAVE fermentations (up to 2000 L). Key daily activities include operating and monitoring Single-Use Bioreactors, performing sterile inoculations, conducting in-process controls and sampling, and meticulously documenting all steps according to strict GMP standards. The ideal candidate must have vocational training as a Bioprocess or Pharmaceutical Technical Assistant and possess at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in sterile cell culture techniques and working within a cleanroom environment. This position requires strong German fluency (C1 minimum) and a willingness to participate in shift work, including regular weekend and on-call duties, contributing directly to the scale-up and optimization of innovative biopharmaceutical products.
