This role seeks a dedicated Functional Safety Software Development Engineer to ensure functional safety throughout the safety-relevant software development process. Day-to-day responsibilities include taking ownership of safety compliance, developing crucial software safety concepts, and deriving precise safety requirements. The engineer will coordinate and support the creation of development artifacts in strict accordance with ISO 26262, ensuring rigorous verification and validation, and maintaining comprehensive safety evidence documentation. A core task involves conducting detailed safety analyses, such as signal flow and effective chain analyses. Key qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable STEM field, coupled with extensive experience in software development and deep knowledge of functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, communicative, and fluent in both German and English, ready to contribute to cutting-edge technological progress.

Required Skills

Education

Successful degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable MINT (STEM) education.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the software environment
  • Deep knowledge/experience in Functional Safety (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262)
  • Experience applying analysis methods like FMEA and FTA
