This R&D Physicist role focuses on product development within instrumental analytics, specifically enhancing optical detection systems for liquid chromatography. The successful candidate will drive innovation by conceptualizing and designing complex optical, optomechanical, and microfluidic assemblies, primarily utilizing spectroscopy techniques. Daily tasks involve evaluating potential solutions through advanced modeling and simulation (including Raytracing, CFD, and thermomechanical analysis), building and testing prototypes, and processing large datasets to inform key technical decisions. The role requires a holistic view, translating application requirements into precise technical specifications and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams of natural scientists and engineers. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a background in physics or related fields who is proficient in both German and English and eager to push the limits of detection technology in a supportive, international environment.
