Job Summary

This senior role within the Digital R&D (DRD) team focuses on bridging quantum computing and chemical innovation, driving computational chemistry forward at a major materials science company. The professional will be responsible for developing cutting-edge quantum algorithms and programs using frameworks like Qualtran and PennyLane, while also engaging in benchmarking and applying advanced classical computational chemistry methods (e.g., GPU-accelerated DFT, DMRG). Key activities include independently developing and implementing complex workflows and collaborating with applied computational and lab chemists to identify use cases focused on chemical processes for the circular economy. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Quantum Theory or Computational Chemistry, possesses extensive experience with quantum computing programming languages, and demonstrates mastery of professional software development workflows, Python's advanced features, and HPC environments. This is a unique opportunity to research at the intersection of industrial application and fundamental science, supported by collaborations with partners like Google Quantum AI and leading universities.
