Job Summary

This Specialist role is centered on maintaining rigorous adherence to international trade regulations and managing hazardous materials compliance within a leading technology services platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining a material database in SAP, defining relevant checks, information, and classification features. The specialist will perform customs tariff and export control classification for sales items, spare parts, and components according to various lists (Warenverzeichnis, Güterlisten, EAR, ITAR, CCL, ECCN). This requires close communication with manufacturers to clarify material usage and technical specifications, and coordination with German authorities such as Customs (Zoll) and BAFA for binding rulings. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in engineering or a comparable field, extensive experience in material classification and export control, excellent SAP/ERP system proficiency, and strong analytical skills to tackle complex classification challenges.
