Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position based in Frankfurt (Oder) involves supporting the District Head of the Waterways and Shipping Office Oder-Havel, taking on key leadership and administrative responsibilities. Day-to-day duties include extensive operational and personnel planning, such as creating duty rosters, deployment schedules, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health standards by organizing inspections and drafting risk assessments. The specialist will also be responsible for technical program planning, conducting comprehensive waterway monitoring, processing third-party project statements, and overseeing maintenance activities. This includes inspecting waterway structures, analyzing hydrographic data (water levels, flow), and managing tenders and procurement for construction services. The role requires a mandatory certified technical qualification (State-certified Construction Technician or Master Craftsman) and offers an engaging, varied occupation within the stable Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration network.
