Job Summary
The City of Stuttgart is seeking a JavaScript Software Engineer to join its Digitalization, Organization, and IT department. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding and optimizing development platforms using custom JavaScript functionalities. Key responsibilities include advising and supporting 'Citizen Developers,' conducting coaching sessions and workshops, and continuously developing services on the platforms based on user needs. You will also identify, resolve, and document platform issues, and implement improvements for efficiency and user-friendliness. This position offers a secure, permanent role within a public sector environment, contributing directly to the digitalization efforts of the state capital Stuttgart.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science or a comparable university degree, or vocational training in IT with several years of professional experience in the field. For foreign degrees, recognition in Germany or proof of equivalence is required.
Experience
- Several years of experience with JavaScript
- Good understanding of complex, networked systems
- Experience in the creation, further development, and expansion of workflow-based applications
- Experience in municipal structures (beneficial)
Languages
Additional
- Open to civil servants in the higher information technology service. For non-German certificates and degrees, a translation by sworn interpreters/translators is required.
