Job Summary

The Environmental Engineer will be instrumental in initiating, supporting, and implementing critical environmental and climate-relevant projects for the City of Moers. Key responsibilities include commissioning and evaluating expert reports, particularly natural science soil surveys, drafting comprehensive environmental statements for various planning procedures (e.g., building permits and zoning plans), and ensuring the timely implementation of new environmental norms derived from EU, federal, and state legislation. Furthermore, the role involves leading the cross-departmental development of city-wide concepts for sustainability and environmental protection, such as climate analysis and noise action planning. Candidates must possess a degree in Geo- or Environmental Sciences or equivalent engineering qualifications, coupled with strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and proficiency in MS Office.
