Job Summary
This critical role seeks a dedicated Test Engineer to perform a wide array of specialized tests on space mechanisms, including electrical, functional, performance, vibration, shock, thermal, and vacuum testing. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing and maintaining sophisticated test facilities, such as measurement and control systems, shakers, and thermal vacuum chambers. The engineer will serve as a key expert in Mechatronics Test Engineering, supporting both development and series projects, and ensuring comprehensive technical documentation for all test campaigns. Success in this position requires a technical degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Electronics, coupled with excellent proficiency in both German and English. The ideal candidate will possess experience in automation, measurement technology, and software development. This is an attractive opportunity to join a growing high-tech company, contributing to cutting-edge aerospace projects, though initial training (approx. 3 months) will take place in Vienna before the permanent transition to the Berndorf site in 2026.
Required Skills
Education
Technical education (HTL/Technical College, University of Applied Sciences, University) in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related fields.
Experience
- Professional experience providing technical expertise in Mechatronics Test Engineering for development and series projects
- Professional experience requiring independent and meticulous work methods
- Experience contributing to optimization and continuous improvement processes
- Experience in measurement and control technology, automation technology, and software development (advantageous)
Languages
Additional
- Driver's license and personal vehicle required (due to poor public transport access at the Berndorf site). Willingness to complete approximately 3 months of initial training in Vienna (1120). The primary location will be Vienna for the first few months until the new infrastructure in Berndorf is completed in Spring 2026.
