Job Summary

This VAT Manager role is a critical, part-time (15 hours), fixed-term position within a fifteen-person VAT team in Cologne, focusing on supporting the daily operations of the REWE Group. The incumbent will be responsible for providing national VAT consulting, acting as the technical point of contact for central and operational companies, and independently processing VAT declarations using specialized tools. Key duties also include participating in VAT audits, advising on real estate-related transactions, and contributing to strategic projects like developing a VAT Wiki and enhancing the Tax Compliance Management System (TCMS) by identifying risks and implementing controls. Successful candidates must hold a degree in economics or law with a tax focus, or a finance diploma, and demonstrate strong analytical skills and IT affinity. Routine proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis, is essential. While professional experience in VAT is preferred, the team welcomes career changers from other tax law fields or re-entrants, offering a unique opportunity to apply expertise in a dynamic retail environment.
