This role is for a Laboratory Technician at the State Investigation Office for Health and Veterinary Affairs in Saxony, focusing on Food Hygiene and Microbiology in Chemnitz. The technician will be responsible for the entire sample lifecycle, including collection, registration, computerized data entry, and disposal. A core function involves independently preparing and conducting specialized microbiological examinations of food products and hygiene swabs, utilizing modern equipment and adhering strictly to testing protocols. Key qualifications include a completed vocational degree as a Biology Laboratory Technician or a comparable qualification, along with practical experience in microbiological and molecular biological testing procedures, particularly concerning food safety and bacteriological meat inspection. The successful candidate must demonstrate high reliability, flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and proficiency in PC applications. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract basis, initially full-time, transitioning to part-time (36 hours/week) later in 2026.
